Description

Adan (now Arnie) is a ctrossbreed puppy who has flown from Cyprus and is currently in foster in Berkshire . He is now 6 months old so still a puppy This is what his foster mum says about him Arnie is a really calm puppy in general. He has his moments of zoomies or chasing and wrestling with his big ‘brother’ but more often than not you’ll find him laying down like a good boy in the room you’re in. He’s a shadow! We have worked on calmness around meal times and he’s really getting the hang of sitting and waiting and taking chews gently. He’s simply just an excited puppy. He’s a lovely floppy puppy who makes for a great cuddle buddy! ◦ Walking to a heel needs work but we are starting on this. On his own or alongside his ‘brother’ he is very good, He has swapped and shared bowls with his ‘brother’, scatter fed and taken treats together no problem.. He’s doing well with our resident dog. It took some time but they began to play. Our resident dog is playful and friendly but quite nervous. We feel Arnie would be better suited either as someone’s soul companion (only dog) or with a confident well established dog subject to meet ups. He would benefit from some socialisation to teach him how to greet other dogs. It’s just gaining confidence. We believe he is a people’s dog more than a dog’s dog. On walks he is non reactive to passing people, dogs, bikes, cars. He is actually slightly shy of meeting new people but takes to his owners really quickly. He just comes back to mum and dad . He is also picking up a recall to ‘Arnie here’. He hasn’t done much with kids or other animals. He has had a child say hello on a walk and he was perfect. He has been in a house with a cat and took no notice (but there was no chase on offer!). However, I would test this further if looking at a home with them. ◦ He is house trained He can stay 4 hours alone no problem and would be ok to do longer if absolutely necessary. This however has been with our resident dog. But I believe he would learn to be ok on his own as he mainly spends the time sleeping (he’s very cute to watch on camera!) He is also quiet at night. Arnie and the resident dog have had the kitchen with several beds to choose from no problem. He might whine quietly for 5 minutes while he hears you go up, then he settles. He also waits nicely for you to come down in the mornings and is always excited to greet you . He has stayed in a crate but settled better with roam of the kitchen with our other dog. However, we believe he would easily be fully crate trained as he is happy to go in one. He has never done anything destructive at home. He’s a lovely boy just hasn’t matched our resident dog being that he’s nervous and Arnie is much more bold. We do think he’d be better suited alone for full attention or with a confident dog subject to meet ups to test compatibility. He’s got a great nose so scent work might be a fun one to do with him. He loves a walk and run but also loves a snooze. He’s very alert and clever so would do really well with the right family/person. He has no health issues. Adoption will be subject to a neutering agreement when he is old enough
