We adopted Indi (Indigo) from this site just yesterday. He is a gorgeous dog who is so easy to fall in love, he has beautiful eyes and a gorgeous coat. Indi's temperament on walks is so much better than we expected - his dad was a bit of a bully so he can be nervous around big loud dogs and thinks he can play with the little dachshunds, but we have found that he is a gentle giant and has gotten on really well with our highly dog populated neighbourhood.
Unfortunately, his previous owners weren't particularly forthcoming with some ongoing issues that Indi has. Despite being 18months, he is not fully housetrained and only knows basic commands such as "sit," "lie down," "come," and "stay." He doesn't have any recall and it is clear he hasn't had the chance to be a puppy as he has no interest in toys or playing - he doesnt even know how to fetch!
In the short time we have had him he has made big improvements with letting us know when he needs the toilet, and growing more confident. He's a big cuddle buddy and has no signs of aggression or anything remotely near.
He is severely underweight from his previous owners and is on supplements that should help with this. Other than that, we have very little medical history, other than being assured he has had his puppy vaccinations.
We're not motivated by money whatsover. He needs a new home as a matter of urgency as my wife is allergic due to her asthma. He would do so much better with someone who has a garden, and we know this would really help him with toilet training, he's already picking it up so fast. We just can't commit to what he needs when there are allergies present.
