Surrounded by sadness, day in, day out - the world we live in is becoming daily heartbreak and we are trying our best to stay on top, but this girls story is one of true sorrow and could be classed as ignorance / neglect. This girl was presented at the vets to be euthanised, to have her life ended by her owner. The sad part of this is that her elderly owner had developed Parkinson’s Disease and could no longer care for her and he thought this was the way!
Luckily, the vets made a stand and refused. This girl is so so sweet, so friendly, so gentle and didn’t deserve to die. The vets started reaching out to rescues, but everyone they called were full, including us. But how could we say no and refuse? We are struggling ourselves but we believe in miracles, we believe that we can find a family for this beautiful girl. We are very lucky to have found her a short term foster, so she is living life in a home, but needs to find a permanent one.
This is Izzy, she is 3 years old , super chilled, practically horizontal most of the time!

Izzy will be spayed - this is kindly being done by the saving vet and also she does have entropian (ingrowing eyelashes) which will also be operated on by the saving vet practice. This is a really irritating condition and will be done as soon as possible for her. Her spay will be also done in one month as she just finished a season. Ideally we are looking for an adopter in the Nottinghamshire area, for ease of vet appointments although someone who would be happy to bring her to Nottinghamshire for these treatments would also be considered.
We have saved her and now it’s time to find her forever family to love her like we all do. This dog is a very special lady, nothing phases her, she has literally taken everything in her stride and given love back every time.

Izzy has been an absolute joy to have around and has settled in really well. She’s such a gentle, loving girl who just wants a bit of fuss and company. She follows me from room to room like a little shadow and would probably come to the loo with me if I let her. At night she can whine for a bit, but is happy to sleep in her crate with a chew and always clean and dry.
She’s brilliant on walks too. Izzy walks nicely on the lead, isn’t bothered by traffic, bikes, runners or even horses, and is polite with other dogs. She does like to say hello to people, though, which means our walks sometimes take a bit longer!
She’s on a bit of a weight-loss journey, but that doesn’t stop her from putting her paws into your lap for cuddles. She leans against you for attention, loves a kiss and cuddle. She can be a bit lazy, snoozing in a sunny patch of floor or curled up on her bed
All in all, Izzy is a sweet, easy-going dog who would make herself at home with just about any family.
