Flash is a (nearly) 3 year old Collie x Cocker Spaniel looking for an experienced and active home š¾
āØ What Heās Brilliant At
- Super clever! Quick to learn and thrives on mental stimulation
- Housetrained
- Crate trained
- Travels really well in the car
- Loves being around his people
- Great with other dogs off-lead
- Good recall
- Not destructive when left at home
- Fine to occasionally be left alone for up to 4 hours (he'll snooze the whole time!)
- Responds extremely well to positive, force-free training methods
ā” Things to Know
- He does resource guard food and some toys, so needs an experienced home to manage this confidently
- Can be uncomfortable with too much fuss, particularly his back/back legs
- Pulls on the lead, so will benefit from ongoing positive lead training. After a run around he's much better
- Would really thrive in an active home where heāll have a ājobā, whether thatās gun-dog work, agility, scent training, or plenty of structured activities
- Harsh or negative reinforcement is not suitable for him and will set him back. He thrives on consistency, encouragement and reward based training
- He came from a difficult background and does not cope well with children. He needs a calm, child-free home where he can feel safe

- Cats or other small animals.
- Heās observed farm animals from a distance but hasnāt been walked through fields with livestock
š³ His Ideal Home
- An active household with spaniel (ideally collie too) experience. He needs a firm but friendly owner
- Adults-only, no children
- Ideally the only dog in the home (though heās friendly with dogs out and about, his resource guarding is stronger around dogs in his own space)
- Someone who will give him a mix of exercise, brain games, and a structured day (including 'down time')

Please donāt apply just because of his looks. He isnāt a typical āfamily dogā - heās a clever, sensitive, working-type dog who needs an experienced, active home

This has been a very hard decision. Heās a wonderful dog, and I want him to find a home that not only loves him but also appreciates his energy and sensitivity. Iām not in a rush, so Iād rather wait for the right match for him.
