Description

Maddie is a beautiful, one year old Rough Collie. Letting her go is an incredibly difficult decision and not one we’ve made lightly. We're doing everything we can to make sure she finds the right home where she can continue to thrive and be loved. In the home, Maddie is calm and well mannered not noisy or boisterous. She rarely barks, even when the doorbell rings or people come in. The only time she may bark is if someone she doesn’t know comes too close to the garden fence while the cats are outside, as she can be protective of them. However, this behaviour is never excessive, and she quickly calms down with a gentle correction. She is house and toilet trained and is used to having access to a garden for toilet breaks in the early mornings and late evenings. Maddie can also be left alone for up to three hours without any fuss. She loves being outdoors, going on long walks, and playing fetch. She’s great at catching the ball, bringing it back is still a work in progress, but she’s learning. Maddie is very food motivated and will sit patiently waiting for a bite. Toast is her favourite breakfast, and she’s especially fond of salmon. Maddie is brilliant with children and very gentle with other animals. She’s grown up around cats with no issues at all. At the park, she’s friendly with people and dogs alike, especially smaller dogs, and never barks or jumps at them. We’d prefer she goes to a home with another neutered dog, male or female, as she really thrives with a furry companion. She walks beautifully on the lead and stays right by your side. Her recall is good but will just take a little time while she builds trust. Within a couple of weeks, she should settle in well and form a strong bond. Maddie will be neutered before going to her new home. This won’t be a rushed process. Any potential new owners must be willing to spend time getting to know Maddie, and giving her the chance to get to know them too. We want her transition to be as smooth and stress free as possible. Maddie is a truly amazing dog with so much love to give. Anyone would be lucky to have her as part of their family. Thank you so much for taking the time to read about Maddie and for helping us find her the perfect new home.
