Description
This is actually breaking my heart but I think I need to find my boy a new home. Unfortunately I have some serious medical complications that have gotten worse recently which has me worrying me about my boy. He is my own family, so I will be very picky about where he goes - but my main concern is that he is safe, well taken care of and happy - so finding him a new, forever home is my main priority right now.
My decline in health has got me in a situation where I am no longer able to provide the best home for him, plus I am VERY worried if something serious happens to me, he will end up in a shelter as I don't have family.
He has just turned 5. I rescued him from a family when he was just 6 months old. He has a lot of allergies - including grass, but is the biggest love-bug you'll ever meet and his heart more than makes up for that. He is NOT a couch potato. He loves a snuggle but has energy and loves walks (although can't go too far, as is typical with bulldogs and their breathing). He has never met a stranger - loves everyone and all animals. Although does get excited around cats now - hasn't been tested inside home with cats. But is great with older kids, wouldn't advise if you have little ones - as he is a bulldozer, and has no idea of his size - no aggression. He loves all dogs - although can be nervous / wary of tiny fluffy, yappy dogs. As a few have "attacked" him.
I worked in rescue for years in the States and will be VERY picky about where he goes. I would never give up my baby if it wasn't what was best for him and in these dire circumstances it is. This isn't a first come first serve deal. I am not giving him away for free (unless you are a verifiable rescue) - as this is to ensure his new family can afford him and he is safe. With his allergies I would like his next home to be experienced with the breed. I would also ideally like to see him go to a family that already has a bully breed / larger dog so he has a doggy brother or sister to play with. I am based in SE London, but think he actually would prefer to live out in a quieter environment - he is great at pubs and farmers markets but hates walking down busy streets - walks fine, just gets nervous.
There is lots to go over, too much to type, so if you're interested, please get in contact with a little about yourself and your home and we can go from there.
PS he will come with bed, a personalised raised bowls, cage (rarely used) tons of toys, his meds, food etc.
