Description

It absolutely breaks my heart to even be writing this but we have made the very sad decision to find our lovely boy Murphy a new home. 🐾 He is the typical energetic very nearly 1 year old Labrador who is a whirlwind bundle of love. This is not a decision I have made lightly, I have mullled it over for multiple weeks now. Truthfully I have just sadly come to the realisation that I am stretched way too thin. We have 2 children, 2 dogs and my husband is working long hours so I am juggling it all single handedly and sadly without anyone around me for support. Additionally, We have 2 labradors and Murphy I feel is too boisterous for our older lab. They get on like brothers but I do believe Murphy would be better in a home where he is the only dog and will not consider a home with another dog. He is fully crate trained, knows his commands; sit, stay, wait, paw, lie down, bed. He is absolutely fantastic with both of our children (3 and 1 years old), he absolutely adores our baby. He is a very needy boy who loves fuss and loves to be by your side constantly. I just see him better suited to a home where he is also the baby and can have that 1 on 1 time. His only slight down sides is he’s a gannet, he loves his food haha and will happily help himself if given the opportunity - NEVER aggressive with it though. He will chew his bed given the chance and sadly any socks lying around don’t stand a chance, soft toys also last 2 seconds but he does have some hard toys which have lasted. He has never chewed anything else, no furniture or anything like that but we do put him in his crate when we go out. He also has the tendency to cry at times - this is not all the time. Mainly if you go outside without him he we will cry. He also could do with some lead training or be walked by a strong person - we have a harness and short lead which does help a lot but this does go out the window when he sees another dog. He is not aggressive but will bark at another dog. I will only consider the perfect home for him, someone who loves dogs and preferably knows the breed that can give him the love, time and attention he rightly deserves. He is and will make the most amazing companion for someone or a little family. If we did not have our other lab then I would not even be considering this at all. I would prefer to meet people with him and see how he goes before making a definite decision and a bonus would be if you did live local to us, I would love to meet at a dog park occasionally so the boys could play together like they love too. Albeit this is optional and entirely up to the potential new owner.
