Description

This little boy was my Nan’s, but she couldn’t cope with him, I brought him back to rehome him but couldn’t, however 4 years on and I’m having to do what I should of done back then. He is housed currently with another Dachshund although initially it was quite hostile they come around within hours, he comes with a passport, all health up to date with no health issues, flea and worming up to date. My neighbours where helping me for the last 4 years walking both my dogs each holding a dog, unfortunately the dad is poorly and he’s not going to get better but worse, I am left to walk my dogs and unfortunately when walked together they are reactive, bark aggressively and lunge towards dogs, this is quite hard work and not enjoyable when I’m having to do this alone with the both of them being quite unruly. I currently walk them with muzzles on. Last week my neighbour the son walked Major and apparently he was well behaved and able to let a dog come up to him and a lady with a sausage dog was able to speak to my neighbour and again Major was very well behaved, so his behaviour out and about is questionable. I would prefer him to go to a home with no other animals but if you wanted to try and integrate them then I’m happy for you to try, but the house can only have a dog, cats are a definite no go! He is ok around adults, men but maybe a bit apprehensive to start with, he is ok around children but I would avoid babies or toddlers. My boys are 8 & 9. He got bitten by a dog not many days after I acquired him due to some women being an imbecile and not having her dog on the lead and he just hasn’t been the same since, he would benefit from some training, however I’m a single parent and work and just don’t have the time to give to him. He loves watching TV 🤣 and loves belly rubs and cuddles and kisses, he is a beautiful boy and I’m very sad to have to rehome him, but I have to try and train my other dachshund, he was a dream and well behaved but since Major has been here has picked up some bad habits, he will be easy to get back and shouldn’t take too long but Major I believe needs a lot more time and dedication and one on one. I go on holiday in August and as it stands my other dachshund won’t be able to go to the kennels due to his behaviour so I really need to act fast. I’m open to any questions you may have. I don’t really want any money for him but to make sure no one just takes him to treat him unkindly £100 will be necessary but this can be negotiated if I feel he will be looked after, I just want him to go to a loving forever home, he is castrated so is not up for being used as a stud.
