Trying to save sweet puppies from the mass dog killings in Morocco.
Their clever mum chose a secluded spot - hidden from most dangers, but just visible enough to a passer-by who might want to offer them food, water or kindness.
Even those small acts are now illegal under the new Bill No 19.25 that criminalizes helping strays in any public space.
And sadly, not everyone is kind! When they were small puppies, people threw large rocks at them - even when they were just sleeping, huddled together on a piece of fibreglass next to a construction site.
Despite everything, they remained gentle and sweet, trying so hard to be loved.
We raised funds to get them vaccinated, arranged for their mum to get spayed, and covered emergency vet bills but they still weren't safe and sadly, not all of them survived.
On May 7th, the puppies went missing. We were worried they had been taken by the vans even though they didn't pose a threat to anyone. We managed to find 5 puppies abandoned in another town.
The remaining puppies are now safe in kennels whilst they wait for their travel documents and will be travelling to the UK from October. They are all incredibly affectionate, sweet & so deserving of a chance.
