Description Hera little girl U.K. second chance adoptions- Devon area Plymouth ‘There’s no place like home...i wish’
In the words of the welfare including Heras history prior to going to EU shelter- currently in Devon
The qualified dog trainer & owner advisor said there is nothing wrong with Hera. The right family will discover this as she is a second chance adoption & available.
I’ve included the independent trainers appraisal below which he kindly did at no cost a-long with his advice to the current owner. We feel it’s best for Hera & all concerned if she starts afresh. Like people different sides of a dog are brought out by those around them and they change according to their environment although the trainer thought she was wonderful. I have every faith that second time around this pre-owned treasure will have pride of place. She has been in the U.K only a couple of months. Already testimony to her ability to flourish she is receiving belly rubs from strangers on a first visit & playing with toys. She has really bonded with a particular family member & can go from strength to strength.
Hera was born or abandoned in the vicinity of a kindergarten where she was never shown kindness yet only displayed meekness back. In Europe she was around

children, dogs & men & women & fine with them all. You see her being carried by the male vet onto transport so even when scared or confused she was completely passive.
I cannot say what she needs better than the owner advisor who I defer to in his complete understanding of animals-see below. My experience which has never let me down- taught to me by the pooches themselves, is that there isn’t a single dog whose people aren’t out there somewhere for them. Compassion, understanding, the ability to look at yourself & the gift of time is the key to success. I wish that for all the dogs.
Hera in three sentences
A compact sensitive soul who was abandoned in the kindergarten with her mum & siblings & never reacted once even though no-one was kind. Testimony to not just fear but her pure nature this deep & unique soul blossomed to belly rubs in the U.K.

In the words of the dog trainer
“Hera is a sensitive soul who needs some positive guidance to fit in with life in the UK. It might well take some time before she is confident and happy in her new home.
She would benefit from a fairly quiet home, and although she does live with a cat at her current home, my feeling is that she would really flourish in a home as an only pet, where she gets all the attention. To start with she would need someone who understands that sudden movements are NOT a good thing but that slow, quiet movements won’t startle her while she learns to understand her
new environment.
Though very nervous to start with, she will be more than happy to get belly scratches once you have gained her trust – this took about an hour, and quite a lot of treats, for me when I visited her. Then she was more than happy to lie flat out on the sofa between Karen and myself, and enjoy some gentle stroking. What she needs more than anything else is a set routine and consistency in her
training.
She will need plenty of love and attention, and someone who is willing to work slowly with her to work on her house training, and get her used to leads, harnesses and going for walks. Once past this hurdle there will be no stopping her!
She will need lots of time, and then some more time; but with a dedicated guardian
who spends the time on her coaching she will blossom into a wonderful companion.” Tom Horsley BCCSDip.DogBhv
