Teddy is our 13.3hh registered (Green Book) Welsh C Gelding born 2020. Bred by Glanvyrnwy Stud in Wales. Sired by Parvadean Re-Think out of a Glanvyrnwy Mare (Glanvyrnwy Posh Spice)
Teddy came to me in October last year completely untouched.
He has movement to die for. The typical Welsh high leg action and a striking “look at me” presence.
His full history is known.
He has been carefully backed doing extensive groundwork and de-sensitisation. I’ve done mounting work with him, all sorts of desensitisation work from umbrellas to tarpaulins, lawnmowers, tractors, bin lorry’s, wheelbarrows, dogs, goats, pigs, children, hoses. The lot! He has seen a lot!
He has lived with three children whom he absolutely adores and has huge potential to be a fantastic child’s pony with some more work. The care he shows not to bump into them or pull them is actually noticeable. He is an extremely kind boy. He is very respectful on the ground to the point my 3 year old can lead him to and from the field.
I have given him a “start” at life and I’m looking for someone who can continue his education in a calm, respectful and sympathetic manner.
Teddy shows signs of being miss treated in the past. He lacks trust before he bonds with you, but after that relationship has been made he is your best friend. However, lift your hand to him and he will not be your friend!
He has been lightly backed. Walks and trots well under saddle and has cantered twice under saddle and could do to have someone who can continue his ridden career now. He has hacked out on country tracks and on the road and loves going out! Rides in an indoor or outdoor school. He has been ridden bitted in a snaffle and bitless and is responsive in both.
He is not at the point of being a get on and go child’s pony yet! He needs a competent teenager or small adult who can support him and ride him as he really is a baby when it comes to ridden work. He’s done the very basics but now is ready to be shaped into whatever you want him to be.
He’s shown great ability in the show ring so far. He was pulled up with two 3rds in his first ever in-hand classes with some really promising feedback from the judges.
He stood like an angel at the trailer and watched the horses go by, my 6 year old son led him around the show. He really didn’t care.
He threw a splint at the start of the year. It’s barely noticeable now and doesn’t affect him at all. Wasn’t picked up by judges when showing but trying to be as honest as possible.
He travels fantastic in either a lorry or trailer (done both) He is up to date with all vacations, worming, farrier etc. Farrier has said that his feet are solid and he’s been ridden barefoot with no issues.
Currently lives in and out, he’s happy to do whatever. He is happy to be turned out on his own (was by himself at home and he wasn’t fazed) or turned out with others (currently on livery to try and boost his confidence around people).
I would absolutely love to keep Teddy, however he’s at the stage of needing regular work and a good routine and with three children and my health which I struggle with, I just can’t offer him what he needs.
This boy is genuinely special. He’s going to make an absolutely cracking pony for someone. You need to meet him to really feel his honesty.

Absolutely NO DEALERS he has been passed through dealers before me and he deserves a family home!
