Description
Sadly my cheeky chap is looking for a new family to love him, unfortunately my middle dog has rejected him.
Hugo is pure joy and will make a lovely addition to your family.
He's completed the Kennel clubs good citizenship bronze award, I've continued his training mainly general obedience and beginners agility. He's very smart a picks up new skills very quickly. Continuing his training is essential.
He walks nicely on the lead once hes settled, but he is a strong dog. He can pull when he sees other dogs and we've been working with a command to distract him.
He was last weighed at 33kg stands 24 inches at the shoulder.
Hugo is a big softie who loves to be where you are, he's soft in his nature and he needs his confidence building in certain situations.
Loves water, he's easy to take places and travels well in the car.
Plays fetch, crate trained, sleeps through the night normally 10 - 6 then he's ready to start his day. He is crated when I go to work around 6ish hours.
He's house trained, knows 'go for a wee' as his que to go. He's a clean dog.
Fed a good quality dry food, along with chicken wings, tripe, fruit and veg. No digestive problems.
Although I have a cat, he does chase her so probably better if your home is cat free. Not tested on small furies.
He's been with me, my daughter 13 and 2 dogs. No experience with young children/babies or small furies.
Hugo loves to get on laps, sofa and has occasionally slept in my bed as a treat (for me) he will jump up (which i dont mind) and he loves to give kisses.
When we eat at the table he will stay in his crate with door open until he's prompted to come out.
He knows sit, wait and lay (with a treat)
Occasionally he'll chew things but it's getting less and less, something he'll grow out off.
Off lead he has good recall and generally likes to stay close but will investigate other dogs, I keep him on a long line.
He has lots of energy so will need a family who enjoys the out doors and who will be committed to continuing his training.
Whilst Hugo has an excellent temperament ideally he would benefit from being the only dog as he has a big personality and wants all the attention.
I think Hugo would thrive in a home that's had dogs before as I dont feel he is someone's first dog.
Please ask if you'd like to know more.
This is a very difficult decision and I'm going to be really picky and not let him go to just anyone, if location permits I would want to visit your home also i feel spending time with Hugo before being committed to him would be a good idea. He deserves a 5 star home. He'll come with his food, bed, lead, collar etc
