Description
We’re sadly looking to rehome our beautiful blue Dachshund, Hector 💙
🐾 2 years old (just turned 2)
🐾 One blue eye and one brown eye
🐾 Crate trained at night
We only took Hector in a few months ago, but unfortunately we’ve realised that he isn’t suited to living with young children. He is incredibly loving and affectionate with adults, but he can be very temperamental around children, and we can no longer trust him around our 3-year-old daughter.
The previous owner told us he was good with young children, but sadly this hasn’t been our experience.
We believe Hector would be happiest in an adult-only home or with older teenage children. We’re also looking for a home with no other pets (we aren’t sure how he is with other pets).
This has been an incredibly difficult decision, and we’re absolutely gutted to have to do this.

Cons
Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own
Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints
They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise
