Description
Bailey is the most beautiful border collie I ever did see, I have had him since around 14 weeks old and he came from a farm in Staffordshire, he turned 2 on 23rd June 2025, I feel such sadness knowing that I need to rehome him, but he deserves so much more than I can currently offer him. He has a wonderful temperament, and is extremely friendly, he has been socialised well with people, children and other animals. He is curious of cats but is actually more scared of them than anything, so wouldn't harm one.
Unfortunately bailey does pull on Lead and is strong for me to walk, after trying numerous techniques he still hasn't mastered this, so ideally I think in order for him to be happy he needs a home with plenty of land to be able to be a free spirit or possibly a male who could handle his pulling situation.
The main reason for rehoming is Due to having 2 young children age 5 and 3 who require a lot of attention, one is showing signs of autism and I've noticed bailey is showing anxiety signs around her with how bouncy and loud she is, he will do a slight growl and move away from her. He is used to a busy home but I dont want him being unhappy, my partner is also disabled and suffers from neurological issues and tremors so has been unable to walk him since he had to stop working a year ago, I myself am often exhausted and struggle with a foot condition called plantar fasciitis which is extremely painful and sciatica in my back but depsite this, every day or evening me and bailey go on a adventure, he absolutely loves being off lead but he needs work on his recall as he loves to go up to any dog to sniff. Ideally I am looking for the perfect owner who can possibly get him neautured and work with him/have more time for him.
If you have a lot of space to offer him or even a farmhouse with land then this would be even better for him. As to everything else he is absolutely amazing, knows basic commands like sit, gives both paws for treats, he's such a cuddly boy and is always showing love and giving kisses to my family, at night he loves to cuddle up on the sofa then once he gets too warm he will find a cool corner to go to sleep. He really is a couch potato, he's never been crated and I never would crate him as he wouldnt step foot in one, he's always been a good boy and has never needed to be shut away.
Ideally I would like Bailey to go to a home with someone who has lots of time and attention to offer him or a family with slightly older children who aren't as noisy and full on as mine.
He can runs laps around a field to tire himself out, likes to play fetch inside or in the garden but not when out on a field for some reason, he's always been more interested on what's going on around him. I think it's in his nature and he just has so much energy to burn off and herds dogs or other animals he sees, at the end of every day he does love to wind down for the night. I love him more than anything, but I know that he needs a better life, a bigger home, more outside space, more adventure and most importantly an owner who can give him more hands on time, training and attention.
I have tried to cover everything and will deeply miss him when he finds his perfect home, but I know that it's the right decision to let him go. If genuinely interested in Bailey please do get in touch 🙏
