Dam Standard Long-Haired Dachshund Our Elza has undergone extensive DNA health testing and is clear of 262 inherited genetic conditions, with no carrier genetic variants detected. Essential health tests: PRA XLPRA1 XLPRA2 von Willebrand's Disease (vWD) Sensory Neuropathy Narcolepsy (Dachshund variant) Osteogenesis Imperfecta Primary Lens Luxation As the sire is a Miniature Dachshund and the dam is a Standard Dachshund, we expect the puppies to mature to an intermediate size, likely smaller than a typical Standard Dachshund, although adult size cannot be guaranteed. Prices 2 Boys: £1,500 3 Girls: £1,700 A non-refundable £200 deposit is required to secure your chosen puppy. The remaining balance is payable before collection. Cons

Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own
Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints
They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise
The breed is known to suffer from quite a few health concerns so vet bills can be high and why pet insurance is so important for anyone owning a Dachshund
