Caleb is 7 year old Romanian dog who sadly has seen himself back with us for a 3rd time through no fault of his own. š
Caleb is a sensitive boy with that Romanian rescue spiritācautious at first, but full of love once trust is earned. Once Caleb bonds with you, his loving personality really shines through. He adores human company, seeks out closeness, and LOVES being fussed over. Heās incredibly affectionate with his trusted people and just wants to be by your side. ā¤
Caleb does best in a calm, low-energy environment with minimal distractions. He can be reactive to strange noises and unfamiliar people, so he needs a space where he can feel secure and not overstimulated. We feel that over the time that he has been back with us he has very much mellowed and is a fantastic dog in the right environment. Itās not just about people who could welcome Caleb into their homes ā because once he trusts you, he is an absolute dream - but with him, the right TYPE of home would be key to him settling in, not just the person.

For potential adopters, building a bond with Caleb means taking things slow and letting trust grow naturally. A few visits to the rescue centre for meet and greets will make all the difference. With each visit, Caleb will start to recognize a familiar face and begin to feel more comfortable with that person.
Caleb is house trained, and walks very well on a lead, but does best in quiet areas with no other dogs as he can be reactive towards those unfamiliar to him.
Caleb is on Fluoxetine for anxiety, and this has helped him tremendously. We can provide a supply of this to cover him over a settling in period and it may be that once settled in a home he can come off it, but he may need it long term. We would be happy to supply it, but he would need to come back to us for 6 monthly check-ups. Caleb has recently had a dental and is fully recovered. He is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and parasite treated.
