Description
Sadly we are rehoming our lovely Staffy Tess. We got her as a rescue from Dogs Trust in 2020 but our family circumstances have changed recently and unfortunately she isn’t happy in our new routine and we are struggling to manage this.
She is around 13 years old, has a few minor age related health problems (will detail below) but otherwise she is spritely!
We would love her to go to a home where she can be a lady of leisure, she loves people and is happiest when she can cuddle up and snooze with you.
She is currently walked in a pack by a dog walker every morning, which she loves, and is very well behaved, however she can be reactive to other dogs and gets stressed when she sees other dogs when walking on the lead so we are looking to rehome her to a home without pets. (She doesn’t like cats either)
She does not walk well on a lead round residential areas and often pulls and this has been something we have been working on over the five years we have had her and she is slowly getting better with consistency (and treats) but she will require patience, consistency and commitment to get her better on the lead. She is much more suited to being walked on an extendable lead in fields or wooded areas. We don’t let her off as she has never had excellent recall.
Tess is house-trained, sleeps well in her crate, and has been a deeply loved member of our family. However, since we’ve recently had a baby, Tess hasn’t been able to adjust to the new routine and noise, and it’s become clear that she needs a quieter home where she can relax and have all the attention again.
Tess has probiotic sachets on her food and is on propalin for minor incontinence but this is resolved with the medication. Vet history will be provided. She is vaccinated, microchipped, flea and wormed and neutered.
She’s stubborn, as many older Staffies are, but endlessly loving. She doesn’t need much — just someone who will cherish her, give her a warm place to nap, and appreciate her loyal nature.
Tess would thrive in a pet-free, calm home with people who have time for her. If you’re looking to give a kind-hearted dog a peaceful retirement full of love, please get in touch.
Upon collection we will also give you her crate, bed, toys, food, treats, medication we have left, vet history information, previous dog walker information (if local), lead, coats and blankets/ towels.
Checks and questions will be asked to ensure the best match for Tess.
