Description
Jynx is a 1-year-4-month Border Collie Cross Welsh Collie. Unfortunately, due to changes in our circumstances, we are no longer able to give him the time he needs due to job demands and other personal commitments. Because of this, he is showing behaviours typically associated with boredom and separation anxiety; therefore, he will need to go to someone who is experienced with border collies and can tend to his physical and mental enrichment needs. We have tried a behaviourist, but this did not work out due to inconsistencies in commitments and finances.
SERIOUS OFFERS ONLY.
His last vaccination was on 16/12/24, so he will need his new home to vaccinate him. He is up to date with flea and worming. He is not castrated, as we were waiting until he was 1 year and 6 months, as this is what is typically advised for male dogs his size.
He lives indoors. He is very loving, friendly, and energetic, and he loves to meet new people. He loves his walks and playing fetch with his tennis balls.
He is hit and miss with other dogs, as some dogs he will get along with great, whereas others he does not, so it would be best for him to be the only dog. We have two cats, which he constantly chases. We have tried to discourage this behaviour, but haven't been successful, so it would be best if there were no cats. He has never bitten anyone, but can sometimes mouth you when playing with him. He used to have a crate, but again due to boredom, he destroyed his crate and now sleeps in the livingroom at nighttime. When out on walks, if there is no one else around, his recall is fairly decent, but if there is another dog or something else to distract him, he will not recall.
We would require his new home to be willing to meet up with us, so we can be sure his new home would be a right fit for him. He would come with the food he normally has, as well as his toys and bowls ect.
We understand that border collies require a lot of time and work, and we have recognised that we can no longer give him what he needs. This is very upsetting for us to rehome him, but we are just trying to do what's best for him and his quality of life.
Again, we will only respond to serious offers, so please don't waste our time.
