This is absolutely breaking my heart, but we are seeking a five-star home for our beautiful 18-month-old Fox Red Labrador, Ted. He is a truly gorgeous, affectionate boy who absolutely adores adults and older children. He is a genuinely lovely, people-focused dog who will make a fantastic companion for the right family. Reason for Rehoming: We genuinely wanted us to be his forever home, but unfortunately, he just does not get along with our dog (our dog is the problem!). We are currently having to keep them completely separate, which simply isn’t manageable in our busy household with two young children. There is no malice in Ted at all, but he is a big, energetic young boy who wants to be the center of attention. Because of this, he must be the only dog in an adult-only home or a home with older children. Ted’s Personality & Training: Commands: He is very intelligent and follows basic commands like 'sit', 'come', 'find your ball', and 'paw'. House Training: He is fully house-trained. Sleeping Routine: He sleeps beautifully through the night and does not require a crate—he absolutely loves to curl up to sleep with his blankets! Leash Manners: Ted walks okay on a front-ring halter. He can pull at times, but he responds really well to basic training, such as stopping until there is slack in the lead again or changing directions. He is very eager to please and picks things up quickly. Energy: He is wonderfully energetic and a little jumpy, but this is a typical teenage Labrador trait that he could quickly be trained out of with consistency. Health & Essential Details: Treatments: Fully flea and worm treated. Neutered: No. Microchip: He is microchipped, but the previous owners couldn't find his paperwork to confirm the number. He just needs to be scanned by a vet to receive the microchip number. Vaccinations: Previous owners confirmed he had all initial puppy vaccinations. Because his paperwork was misplaced, he is due a booster/restart, which is reflected in his low price. What is Included: I am hoping to just get back what we paid for him. To help him settle into his new home, Ted will come with everything he needs: his bed, blankets, toys, food, lead, and collar.
