Description
We are heartbroken to be looking for a new home for our beautiful male dachshund, Reggie. This has been an incredibly difficult decision, but our priority is finding him the safest, happiest, and most loving home possible.
Reggie is the sweetest, most affectionate boy with a huge personality. He’s cheeky, clever, and absolutely loves cuddles, he’ll happily nudge and paw at you for more attention. He knows a few tricks already and is very intelligent, making him easy to train and eager to learn new commands.
Reggie has been raised alongside another dachshund for the past 15 months. Unfortunately, following a recent change in behaviour where he has started regularly snapping at his brother, we feel it is in both dogs’ best interests to separate them for their wellbeing and safety. Please don’t let this discourage you, Reggie truly is a one of a kind dog with so much love to give.
We believe Reggie would thrive best as the only dog in the home, and he cannot live with cats. He is fantastic with children and loves being around people. However, he does experience separation anxiety, which may increase while adjusting to life away from his brother, so he would suit a home where someone is around for much of the day.
Reggie also loves to run and play in the garden, so a secure outdoor space is essential. He’s a clever little escape artist at times, so good fencing is important.
He is fully up to date with all vaccinations, treatments, and regular vet checks, and he is a perfectly healthy boy. Reggie is also quite big for a dachshund, weighing around 10kg!
We are absolutely devastated to have to make this decision, but we cannot risk further fights between our boys. We feel that as Reggie matured, he became less comfortable living with another dog in the home.
If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to ask. We are simply trying to find the most perfect forever home for our special boy.
