Description
It’s with a very heavy heart that we’re looking for a new home for Roxy, our beautiful 9-month-old black German Shepherd bitch.
Roxy is KC registered, has no health issues, and is fully up to date with vaccinations and worming. She has a lovely, affectionate temperament and is a genuinely well-rounded young dog.
She has already had a great start with her training and currently knows: Sit, Down, Paw, Leave, Recall, Good on the lead but needs reminding!
Roxy is very social, friendly, and non-reactive. She’s confident out and about, travels well in the car, and is calm in the home. She doesn’t bark unnecessarily, settles well, and sleeps through the night without crying. She is also very reliably housetrained. I take her everywhere - parks, town centre, work, beach, cafes/pub etc. She’s been very well socialised and is used to lots of noise and people - she’s a very attractive dog that attracts a lot of attention from passers by.
She is excellent with people, friendly with visitors, and enjoys company. She would make a fantastic companion for someone familiar with large breeds, or for an active household with older children.
Reason for sale:
Roxy is a very big girl and we expect her to reach around 45kg as an adult. Despite being gentle, she is already more than double the size and weight of our 3-year-old child (as you can see from the photos), and she unintentionally knocks her over on a daily basis simply by brushing past. As much as we adore her, we feel it’s no longer the right or safest environment for her or our child.
This decision has not been made lightly, and Roxy will only be rehomed to a knowledgeable, loving home that understands the needs of a large, powerful breed. She has huge potential and will make an incredible dog for the right family.
Please feel free to message with any questions or to tell us about the home you could offer Roxy.
