Merlinās story is one of quiet heartbreakāand incredible gentleness.
Still young, still trusting, Merlin found himself alone when he should have been safe. Too kind for a harsh world, too gentle to understand why love had suddenly disappeared, he waitedā¦ believing someone would come back for him. He didnāt panic. He didnāt fight. He simply stayed close to where he had been left, watching every passing face, hoping one of them was his person.
But no one came.
Days passed, and Merlin learned what it feels like to be forgotten. Hunger came quietly. Fear followed slowly. Yet even then, he greeted people with soft eyes and a wagging tailāas if kindness was the only language he knew.
When rescue finally came, Merlin didnāt run away.
He leaned in.
As if he already knew this was his chance to live. š¤
Despite being abandoned, Merlin never lost his loving nature. He still believes in people. He still trusts hands. He still hopes that this time, love will stay.
