This is Maï, and she truly is a beauty! She is a pure miniature long-haired dachshund, currently 1 year, 4 months old. She weighs about 4.5kg.
Health & Care

- In good overall health
- She was born with an overbite – this doesn’t cause her issues at the moment and she lives a happy, normal life. However, it is important to note that insurance companies do not cover her overbite, as it is classed as a pre-existing condition. This means that if she ever needs referral or treatment for it in the future, it would be an out-of-pocket expense. For now, she is absolutely fine and it simply needs monitoring.

Personality
Maï is a loving, affectionate, and friendly dog who adores company and has been a wonderful companion. She has a playful nature, loves a cuddle, and gets on brilliantly with both other dogs and children. She would thrive in a family home where she has plenty of interaction and love.
Like many dachshunds, she does have a stubborn streak and has been more challenging to train at times, so patience and consistency are important. She is generally settled at home but can be a little fridgie and nervous when outside on walks or travelling in the car. With reassurance and gentle encouragement, she is improving and will continue to build confidence in the right home.
Home Life & Suitability
- Perfect for a family with children or other dogs, as she enjoys companionship.
- Better suited to a home where she won’t be left alone for long periods.
- Would thrive in a calm, stable environment with consistent routines.
- Experience with dachshunds or small breeds would be a bonus, as they are intelligent, affectionate, but also strong-willed.
Why We’re Rehoming
This has been such an incredibly difficult decision to make – I am honestly in tears writing this. Due to changes in my personal circumstances, I can no longer give Maï the time, training, and attention she truly deserves. My priority is to find her a loving, stable forever home where she will be cherished and given the best life possible.
