Layla is a gorgeous and loving young lady, who really lives up to her breed as a “Velcro” dog.
We adopted her when she was 11 weeks from a not-so-great environment with the intention of finding a suitable family to rehome her with as I was actually searching for a family cat at the time. Needless to say, we fell in love with her ourselves.
Recently I have been diagnosed with an illness that requires surgery. Recovery time is quite lengthy and therefore I won’t be able to give Layla the time and care she needs.
Layla has a nervous temperament and trembles when in new environments, around new people and sometimes at loud sounds when out on walks. She doesn’t have much confidence when walking and so we take her out for 30 minutes at a time (or however long she seems comfortable with) twice a day. She recalls well off lead when in an enclosed space and knows some commands: sit, stay, fetch.
It took Layla 2 weeks to finally come out of her shell with me, 3 weeks with my 24 and 20 year old daughters and a month with my 12 year old son. So slow introduction is key!
It is with such a heavy heart that I am now searching for either a loving home that can commit to working on Layla’s training or a rescue organisation. Layla deserves nothing but the very best as she is such a loyal and loving dog and really becomes a member of the family.
Layla is house trained and toilets well on training pads. She has a mixed diet of wet and dry food from Lily’s Kitchen. We discovered her tummy is sensitive to chicken.
I have set the price at £75 as the website requires me to. But to the right home temporary or forever she is available for free.
