Description

This is a heartbreaking sale. I love this handsome man more than I can explain, but due to a change in circumstances, I can no longer look after him. This is really a last resort after trying everything. I can no longer give him the life he deserves and I want to ensure he is going to a good home. Goose is a German Shepherd cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier (mum is the same mix and dad is a pure blue staffy - can show images if required). He was born on the 25/07/2024. Around 30kg. He is insured and microchipped. He has all his vaccinations and is up to date on his worm/flea tablets. He recently went to the vet due to a lump in his neck, which we were told is a swollen lymph node and will go away on its own. Aside from that, he is in perfect health. Goose if fully toilet trained. Can do the basics like sit and paw. He likes to play fetch. He doesn’t understand his size and thinks he is a tiny lap dog. He has a certain bed that he knows as ‘place’ and when said, he will go sit on it. He loves cuddles and attention. Goose is young and his training is a work in progress. He needs lots of mental stimulation and exercise, otherwise he can be destructive with furniture. He is good on walks, although he does pull on the lead. This is something we have been working on. His recall is not 100% there yet but he doesn’t go off lead sometimes when there are minimal distractions around, and he always comes back. He likes water and loves splashing in our local river. He is still intact as we were told by the vet to wait a bit longer before getting him neutered. He is now 1 so this can be done soon. Not suitable around children as he is strong and may unintentionally hurt them. He also sometimes still nips, which can hurt due to his strong jaw. This has got a lot better and with continued training, shouldn’t be an issue. He hasn’t met a cat before so I’m not sure how he would be with them. He is the only dog in the home, so again, not sure how he would be living with other dogs. The home he goes to ideally will be with adults experienced with large breed, high energy dogs. People that can continue his training, not leave him alone for long periods of time, and keep him busy. He would love some scent training or something that gives him a job. He is intelligent but stubborn so needs lots of enrichment. Please message with your experience, house setup, and any questions if you are interested. I want to ensure he is going to the right place where he will thrive.
