It breaks our hearts to write this, but we’ve come to the difficult decision that our beloved dog, Riley, needs a new home — one better suited to her needs and happiness.
Riley is a gentle, affectionate dog with so much love to give. She has never shown any aggression, but since our family has grown to include small children, we’ve noticed that she just hasn’t been herself. She often seems sad and withdrawn, and gets jealous or anxious during busy, noisy playtimes. It’s clear to us that she’s overwhelmed, and it’s affecting her wellbeing.
Riley loves her walks, especially in nature or quiet parks. However, she can be very nervous around roads and fast-moving cars, so a calm walking environment is ideal. She thrives in peaceful, predictable surroundings where she can feel safe and loved.
We’re looking for a home without small children — ideally with someone who has time to give her the gentle companionship she needs. She’d be perfect for a retired person, a couple, or a family with older kids who understand how to give her space when needed.
This decision hasn’t come easily. We love Riley deeply, and we’re only rehoming her because we want her to flourish again — to be the happy, relaxed dog she used to be.
