Description
We are sadly having to put Tyson up for rehoming. He's a mix of staffy, husky and alsatian. Tyson has lived previous for about a year with dogs, cats and children but has unfortunately had 5 homes now. He's a very intelligent, loving boisterous boy who loves a squeaky toy and a belly rub. He's brilliant around food and plays well, except when he gets over excited when he jumps and mouths, and may on occasion nip. There's no resource guarding. He has been very good with our 12 year old and she has been very successful training him, so he knows about 30 commands now, including some assistance dog training like pressure therapy. Unfortunately he is anxious and this can make him reactive to dogs that are aggressive to him or to people he is worried by (usually pulling/lunging but may bark or growl too). He is controllable when he does this despite being a big dog, but not for a 12 year old girl, and we got Tyson as a companion for her, which is why he needs to go to a home which has no children or older teens who are experienced with strong dogs and people who are experienced dog owners.
Ty is in many ways an ideal dog. He's great fun, a bit stubborn (that's the husky in him!), very loving and loyal. He loves other dogs unless they are barking at him and really wants to play with them. He will walk nicely, quite often to heel, and loves being busy. He needs quite a lot of exercise and sometimes finds it hard to settle down after a walk or play, jumping on the furniture or people. He would love a house with another dog who he can play with to help him manage his energy and excitement, if that dog was happy to put him in his place now and then.
Ty came to us intact and although we were told that he was fully vaccinated, flead and wormed there was no evidence of this so we have had him neutered, vaccinated, flead and wormed. He is fully house trained. He will be a great addition to the right household but unfortunately he is too reactive for our inexperience and too energetic for us so we can't keep him.
I'm happy to send more photos and videos to anyone interested and to give you more information about what he's like.
Ty will come with food, toys, bed, lead and bowls.
