Description
I have had Miko and Atis from when they were old enough to leave their litters, Miko is 5 and Atis will be 5 in Jan 27. They have been best friends since we got them both, totally inseparable. For family reasons we are so sadly having to rehome them due to leaving the country and the logistics of this mean it would not be fair to them or their quality of life to bring them with us. It pains me deeply to do this, so I am looking for someone who can give them both a loving home. They are both total lap dogs, love affection and are so attentive. We have a 2 year old and they have been incredible with him. Both love a long walk, and Miko particularly is incredible on the lead. Atis was attacked just around a year ago by another dog and has developed some reactivity towards other big dogs, we have done a lot of work on this and he is definitely improving but I suspect the work would need to be continued for him to become more neutral around other dogs again. I think it would also be worth knowing that Atis can be quite nervous around men when first meeting them, the breeder I bought him from has little information around their initial upbringing as his litter was bread in Lithuania and bought over to the UK. I suspect this is where it has stemmed from as he has been this way since I have had him, all that being said once he gets to know someone he is obsessed with them.
It truly is heartbreaking to have to part with them, so I’m hoping I can find someone to give them just as much love as we have for the rest of their lives. This is why the price is so low; it really is not about the money I just want to find a loving home for them. Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own
Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints
They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise
