Sadly we are looking for a forever home for our Minature Dachsund, just turned 3yrs old, only recently purchased, but have found my wife is allergic to him.
His Kennel Club Name is Spicy Pepperoni’Pepperoni, he hasn’t been registered but paperwork is with him. His daily use Name is Pep, which he responds to.
He is a very loving, fit , active and inquisitive dog, loves long walks, I walk him three times a day, early morning, early afternoon and in the evening for at least 45mins a time, he walks with a very sprightly pace and does not seem to tire at all.
He is good on the lead, I have let him off the lead a couple of times in park when no other dogs around and he does look back and keep an eye on me and did return when called. We understand the previous owner had spent money on him for training, as we have only had him a short while, his traits we are still learning. Not sure how much social interaction he has had in the past, some dogs we go past he doesn’t give them a second look, others he does have a bit of a bark. He did spend the day with a friend who has another Minature Dachsund whom he got on well with and played with him well. He has recently met other dogs on his walks and has interacted well with them a Jack Russell and a Long haired Dachshund.
He is very alert and interested in everything.
He enjoys his toys particularly the imitation bones he can chew and the occasional marrowbone from the butcher.
He will need a secure fenced garden, so he can roam and exercise his self, he enjoys zoomies in the garden and fetching ball.
He enjoys cuddles and snuggling up during his quiet times, he sleeps in the bed with us and is very happy.
He enjoys travelling in the car and pays great attention to the outside world for a while then settles down for a nap
As we are both home all day, he hasn't been left, other than if I leave the room to do something and he is then with my wife and he waits at the door for my return.
He is a Beautiful dog, his colour is described on the Kennel Club Paperwork as Isabella & Cream Dapple
Microchipped and Vaccination Booster first dose was done on 6th January and second dose is booked for 3rd February at Blue Cross. His Veterinary Records and Chip paperwork is with him, with details of his previous owner and we have the details of the breeder he came, we purchased him through the breeder from the previous owner.
He has not been Neutered and we understand he has Sired a Litter when with his previous owner.
He has harnesses, extendable lead, carry pouch,Large fold up crate, Coats and hi viz jacket, tinned food, dry food, treats, metal food and water bowls,
We love him dearly and hope we can find him his forever home, he is a great companion dog.
He would best be with someone who knows Minature Dachshunds and is home all day, to give him the love and attention he deserves, he will follow you around all day, he has become my shadow and the long walks and exercise he enjoys and needs.
He sleeps on our bed with us and loves it.
We are deeply saddened that we can’t keep him.
