For the Easter holidays in 2025 we took our beautiful Segugio Italiano bitch Sisi and her sister Dido back to the country of their birth. The rolling hillsides, the olives groves and woodland of Umbria in Italy was too much for my girls. Sisi fell in love with the big open spaces and the scent of hare, deer and wolf. Giddy with the excitement of her Easter holiday she struck up a romance with an Italian canine gentleman who was also staying on the hillside for his family holiday at the agriturismo just behind Sisi’s farm. His charm and soave Labrador good looks were too much for this heady young lady and when we returned to England we found she was with pup. A family meeting was called and all members were summoned - what to do? We decided to keep them.
Five little pups arrived on the longest day. First out was Anubis, Egyptian protector and guide. Next, Marie Antoinette Miss L T E Cake (cake for short), then soon after Elon popped out with an X on his chest ready to create mischief, then out of the blue a little brown Acorn (Miss Millicent Acorn Fawcett that opinionated suffragette of Parliament Square fame) and finally Twinkle Toes who has four little white feet and is fleet of foot. These beautiful pups are much loved and I would keep them all because their mother is so lovely and kind but it is not realistic to do so. We did not intend to have a litter of pups they are much loved and much handled. Sisi is the most fantastic mother and they are all well fed as she is so good with them. They are all very handsome and pretty. We have ordered a DNA test to work out their exact breed type.
