Mum of the litter will be un-affected by any of the genetic faults that affect the retriever breed due to the DNA testing of her parents.
Father of the litter is DNA unaffected of any DNA issues and has been DNA tested.
Both of the parents to this litter have their own parents who have been tested to the hilt, which includes, DNA, hips, elbows, and eyes on the father's side, all with good results.
These are a confident litter, playful and inquisitive. Raised in our family home, used to all houshold noises.
They use a litter tray containing wood pellets, which you can purchase from any houshold store that sells cat litter. They jump in and out to toilet as second nature and have been doing so since four weeks old.
When I purchase a puppy I look for their parents results to make sure I get a good, healthy puppy. If I have that due to the testing on their parents, then that must also pass on to the onward progeny.
Latest intelligence on the hip and elbow side tends to say that they are less prone to problems with hips if they are prevented from becoming over-weight while young so that the weight doesn't grind on their soft, developing bones.
This is how I raise my puppies prior to them becoming young adults. Mum to this litter has been with us from being a puppy and has been raised correctly. This litter will have no problems with hips or elbows if brought up properly. She runs on farmland every day for 1.5 hours without a lead.
This is a breed of dog that is perfect if given good exercise, mental stimulation and either a quality kibble or raw fed. They need to be out every day, you need to factor this into your daily routine by getting up early and getting out later in the day. This is filled with positives. You get to see how beautiful the sunrises are, it keeps you fit and healthy and you create a bond with a friend who will always love you more than any person or animal ever could.
