Sired by Field Trial Champion Jackshea Ted of Poolgreen, Ted's mother Breckmarsh Bella, owned by ourselves is from FTCh (champion) parents who are also hereditary clear of genetic health issues: AMS, PRa and Fn.
Why should I care about FTCh lines?
This is a common question for the breeder aspiring to breed to keep a puppy back for themselves as a pet, part time Gundog or even for agility with no interest in field trials. On the face of it you may not care, however successful trial lines promote several key attributes by genetic selection. Typically, these dogs demonstrate the ability to be trained to a very high standard, be it for varying purposes and most importantly, they’re tested for their biddability and teamwork with their handler.
Hunting with pace and power Ted is fearless in heavy cover and excellent at taking lines. A natural retriever, Ted can be handled like a Labrador in the field.
