Description

We are looking to rehome our beautiful sausage dogs vera & ivy. Vera is 6 a wire haired and ivy is brown smooth haired. Theyre so cuddly. We have had them both from pups but unfortunately are no longer getting on with our old german shepherd. Theyve been brought up round kids n big dogs since pups. They can be yappy like all sausages

Pros

Extremely affectionate and loyal little dogs

Very intelligent Dachshunds learn quickly and know how to please

Fun-loving and playful by nature

Energetic and feisty Dachshunds like to be kept entertained

Cons

Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own

Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints

They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise

The breed is known to suffer from quite a few health concerns so vet bills can be high and why pet insurance is so important for anyone owning a Dachshund
