Bronte has just turned 1, and is a fun and loving pup! She’s very small for a springer and is a little pocket rocket 😊 She has an excellent temperament and adores being outside and on walks. She’s a typical spaniel and just wants to be out and about sniffing anything and everything. She’s quick to learn and such a character and is a lovely family pet.
We’re very sad to have to look for a new home for little Bronte, and are looking for an experienced dog owner who understands working breeds such a spaniels. We have always owned cocker spaniels, but as only dogs, and have found bringing a new pup into the family very hard on our older dog. She is just not tolerating Bronte and we are having to keep them separate around the house and it’s not fair for either of them.
Unfortunately, our original dog is very people centred and has presented some not very nice traits after having Bronte around. She doesn’t play with Bronte and has been very snappy. It’s making life hard all around and we can’t seem to get her to adjust to the change. It’s for this reason we’re looking to rehome Bronte to a family with a very friendly older dog, or as an only dog.
Bronte’s temperament is excellent and she loves socialising with other dogs. She’s very sweet natured and is great on walks. She’s not reactive and just wants to get to where she’s going and get off lead in the countryside. We still have her on a long line to give us confidence that we can stand on the lead if she ever got distracted by something, but she’s been excellent and will run ahead, then stop to check in. She comes back for fuss and treats and will sit and wait when asked.
We walk lots as we know the activity requirements of the breed, and will rehome with a family who also understand how active they need to be. Ideally a family that have spaniels or have had them in the past.
I’ve got so much to say about Bronte and how lovely she is and would be happy to chat on the phone to share more. She’s a beautiful little girl who deserves a home where she can be the main focus, and not sidelined by a grumpy older dog like we have 🤦🏻♀️ Please only enquire if you are genuinely interested in providing an active loving home for Bronte and have the capacity to make it work. We didn’t realise how tricky bringing a new dog into the family would be with a difficult older dog, and want to avoid further disruption for Bronte. We feel very bad about not being able to make it work in our household so would like to ensure an experienced dog owner can provide the life she deserves.
