Dougie is over a year old, and looks a bit like a large Labrador. He’s energetic and enjoys plenty of exercise. We think he’d be best as an only dog in a calm home environment with no children (or teenagers over 16). He’d be especially suited for a more robust person who is fit and able to give Dougie plenty of exercise. His home would need a medium-large secure garden.
Dougie is fully house-trained and his recall is progressing well (he’s only a young boy and is still learning). He is strong on the lead and wants to play with every dog he sees. His lead walking is coming along nicely, but needs to continue in his new home. Whoever walks him will need to be aware of his strength.
Dougie loves playing with toys, and loves fun interaction with his human. He is also very treat focused and willing to learn new things.
He’s sometimes a bit protective over his things, hence why he cannot live with young children. However, Dougie could live in a family with older children (16 years plus). He needs people in his life who will enjoy an active lifestyle with him (playing, walking, training/fun).
He can be left alone in the home, but not for very long periods.
He likes to be outside in the garden, so his new home would need a secure outdoor space for him to enjoy freely off the lead. Dougie is not massively demanding of his human in terms of affection. He likes a bit of a fuss now and then, but doesn't need it all the time. Therefore, he would really suit someone who works from home.
