Description

We are rehoming our beautiful 2 yr old German shepherd. Sadly we feel there is no other option. This handsome lad is the perfect dog in every way. He is lead trained, walks to heel, recall is perfect, house behaviour is brilliant. He lives happily with our young female German shepherd. He shows her nothing but patience and love. He is perfect with our children aged from 1 yrs to 17yrs. So it’s with a very heavy heart that we feel the need to rehome him. Sadly he is reactive to other dogs. And I can’t stress this enough. It’s a severe reactivity he has. We took him on at the age of 2yrs old a few months back and we have tried everything and nothing seems to be getting through to him. We know his aggression towards other dogs is stemming from fear, how this first started we don’t know as sadly his owner before us passed away so we don’t know the answers to this. We have become a prisoner to him and that’s now rubbing off on our other dog, she is also picking up on his behaviour towards other dogs. He’s pulled me off my feet as he weights 46kg which is half my body weight and I am now too worried to walk him alone. We are devastated to have to give up on him but we just don’t feel like we are capable of getting this behaviour out of him which is so sad for us and him. He’s settled in beautifully and is a gentle giant in the house and total gentleman, anyone who meets him falls in love with him. He could melt anyone’s heart. We will only accept interest from someone who has experience with this breed or large dogs. Due to his reactivity and the severity of it. He will need a lot of work and dedication but if his reactivity is cracked he’d be the most fulfilling companion, and he’d thrive.
