At Waltzaway Budgies we pride ourselves in breeding happy and healthy budgies. We breed unusual varieties and have people coming back to us again and again for new additions. Chicks are handled from a week old, are rung with my ring number from the UK Budgie Club and come with a family tree and a lifetime of support and help from us
Firstly a very pretty pale blue and white clearwing. Very unusual and a really sweet girl. She is ready to go this weekend, she had a home to go to but it sadly fell through. When I took her mum out of the nursery cage she suffered a stress moult and dropped her tail feathers. This is very common as they have to start feeding themselves and they get stressed. It does not affect her, she can still fly and it will grow back.
Secondly we have Smurf who is now ready to be reserved. Her and her brother hatched during one of the heat waves and became really dehydrated. As a result she has been formula fed as well as her mum raising her. She is super friendly and will be ready to leave in a few weeks. She's a sort of olive green with a blue undertone and yellow pied. Has given me plenty of grey hairs so now needs a very special home.
