Alfie is an 11 month old golden Labrador. He is bred from an extremely reputable breeders, he comes from a healthy and purebred bloodline. They specialise in only breeding labradors. He is healthy and has been to all of his mandatory vet appointments and is up to date on vaccinations and flea and worming. He has an exceptional diet and is still very playful and excitable. He has not been castrated. He comes from a home with 3 children, one of 11yrs old, another of 8yrs old and the youngest of 4yrs old. He loves them and enjoys cuddles and playing with them in the garden. He has had firm and direct training since a very young pup, he waits patiently for his meals until told he can eat. He sits and gives you his paw and understands basic commands like ‘stay’ etc. he had shown incredible recall from a very young age however more so recently he has regressed slightly with that so will require some refresher training. He can still pull on the lead a little bit, however with the correct lead he has shown improvement and better patience and compliance. Again, he is a pup and still learning.
The reason why I am needing to re home him is due to my personal circumstances at home/life changing. I am unable to no longer provide him with the life he so very much deserves and this has absolutely broken my heart as a dog lover and animal lover. But I want the very best for Alfie because I love him.
I personally would rather he goes to a home with older children that may be a bit calmer and with another dog or other dogs as I believe he will massively benefit from the company and corrections of an older, more knowledgeable dog. I believe he is a dog that will thrive with partnership or a buddy. I would want him to have a home where he firstly loved unconditionally but also where his owners can devote some well needed time to him with walks and stimulation.
Alfie is a big, soft, soppy boy who loves a cuddle on your lap even if he weighs a ton. Again, this has been extremely upsetting for me but it is the best option for everyone.
