Description
Unfortunately we have to rehome our 4 year old dachshund named Rolo.
He needs to go to a home with adults only, no pets, NO CHILDREN, due to his temperament. He has slight separation anxiety, and cries when not in a comfortable location for him.
He is okay with staying in kennels. He is not sure on new people or new dogs. He is good with groomers, fine at the vets.
We have be going through behaviours training for the past 2 years now, and although he has improved a lot we are not sure we will ever be comfortable having him near children as he is unpredictable.
He would not be able to go to someone within the first meeting so would need to be willing to meet a few times before taking him home if the fit is good.
Can take everything we have for him; beds, crate, food, bowls, leads, etc.

Cons
Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own
Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints
They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise
