Description
Scientific name - Dendrobates Tinctorius Azureus (blue poison dart frog)
Blue frogs - 80£ per frog
These frogs are NOT poisonous in captivity - they are safe to handle and care for 🐸
I raised them from tadpoles.
They eat small fruit flies and springtails. Full care guide provided upon purchase
Other info:
- not poisonous in captivity!
- they eat small flightless fruit flights and springtails twice a week
- The enclosure should be wider rather than taller. For juveniles 30cmx30cmx32cm is good and for adults typically 40cmx40cmx40cm. Or if you have space can get one that’s wider like 60cm by 30cm by 30cm
- they are quite social animals so best to keep 2-3. You can buy one for a start and then get it a friend later!
- For decor use some bioactive soil with springtails in there and isopods, leaf litter, some hides, little logs for tunnels, fake or real plants and a shallow water dish
- They don’t require UVb lighting if you keep the enclosure in a well lit room but I like to have UVb for winter
- Need a spray bottle to spray once a day to keep humidity 80-90%
- They enjoy room temperature best so if your house gets cold in the winter you can get a heat mat
- They are observation pet but you can handle them and they are NOT poisonous in captivity
- They are quite small frogs even as adults probably as big as a two pounds coin!
