Kobe is a European import and the son of a show dog. He is FCI registered, the equivalent of KC registered in the UK.
He is a very handsome, affectionate boy with a wonderful temperament at home. He is very obedient, well-mannered, and perfectly behaved indoors. He is loving, content, and happy to be left at home with our other dog.
Outdoors, however, Kobe has fear-based reactivity toward other dogs and unfamiliar men. This presents as lunging and barking, so he would require an experienced owner with strong leadership skills who can guide him and continue his training. Once he has met someone a few times in a controlled environment, he becomes comfortable and behaves well with them.
Kobe also has suspected cruciate ligament damage and will likely require surgery, which will be re-assessed when he is 18 months old. I am prepared to fully cover the cost of the surgery; however, the recovery will require 6–8 weeks of strict crate rest.
Unfortunately, this is something I cannot manage in our current home, as we have another very active Doberman whom Kobe loves to run and play with. Given his high energy level and love of activities such as ball and tug, crate rest would be extremely difficult to maintain here.
With a heavy heart, we are seeking a home where someone is present most of the time and can provide Kobe with the structure, patience, love, and care he needs—particularly during his recovery period.
Kobe is fed twice a day: kibble in the afternoon, and kibble mixed with meat and vegetables in the evening.
Genuine interest only please, and only from those who are confident they can meet Kobe’s needs. Multiple visits will be required to ensure the right fit and to allow Kobe to build a bond with his future owner.
