Tazzie is a beautiful, neutered (approximately) 3-year-old Cretan Hound cross. She was rescued from Greece and, despite a difficult start in life, she has blossomed into a loving, loyal, and gentle companion.
Tazzie can be a little wary of men at first, likely due to her past trauma, so sheāll need someone with patience and understanding to help her continue to build trust.
Tazzie is an active and playful girl who loves long walks, running free, and chasing squirrels. She enjoys playing with toys (destroying them!) and absolutely adores cuddles once she feels comfortable. Sheās very affectionate with those she knows and trusts.
Tazzie is fully house-trained, knows basic commands such as sit and wait, and has good manners at mealtimes. Sheās generally good with other dogs, both at home and off-lead on walks, provided theyāre friendly.
She can be very reactive to other dogs when on-lead, and sheās cautious of unfamiliar people or situations. Off-lead, sheās confident and sociable, but may become protective if she perceives a threat. Her recall is good when there are no distractions, but could use some work around dogs and wildlife. With consistent, positive training, sheāll continue to improve beautifully.
Tazzie can be left alone for reasonable periods and will happily relax watching dog TV! She would thrive in a home with another friendly dog for company, but sheās not suited to living with cats.
Due to her energetic and occasionally boisterous nature, Tazzie would be best suited to a home with older children or adults only.
Tazzie is looking for an active, experienced, and patient home where she can continue to build her confidence and enjoy plenty of love, adventure, and cuddles. With the right people, she will make an incredibly rewarding and loyal companion.
Although we absolutely love Tazzie, weāve made the very difficult decision to rehome her. We have a young child and another baby on the way, and with my husband working full-time, Iām not able to walk Tazzie on my own due to her reactivity on walks.
Tazzie is a dog who thrives on regular exercise, consistency, and attention. Sadly, we just donāt have the time or capacity to give her everything she needs right now. This has been an incredibly hard and heartbreaking decision for us, but our priority is Tazzieās happiness and wellbeing. We want her to have the active, loving home she truly deserves.
