About Enzo
Enzo is a young and handsome boy currently in foster care in Hertfordshire after spending the first few months of his life in a shelter in Cyprus. After being born in the shelter, we knew for certain that Enzo had never experienced the comfort or routine of a proper home environment, but he was offered a chance to travel to a foster home on the 5th May and we’ve been thoroughly impressed by his progress since he arrived!
In a short amount of time, Enzo has adapted beautifully to domestic life and is showing himself to be an intelligent, loving and playful pup. We think he’s a Labrador and Pointer mix, and Enzo displays the best traits of both breeds. He is affectionate and people oriented, with a soft spot for snuggles and clear enthusiasm for food. He enjoys curling up beside his foster carers, preferably surrounded by his growing collection of toys, which he carefully gathers before nodding off for a nap.
In less than a fortnight, Enzo is nearly fully housetrained, sleeps well through the night, and is quickly learning the routines of home life. His lead walking has come on quickly and he now gets excited to go out. He’s even learned which harness belongs to him and picks it out of the pile before running to the door! He would suit a moderately active household where he has regular opportunities for walks, play and enrichment.
Enzo is currently living with two other male dogs and is still navigating the dynamics of sharing space. He is particularly friendly with one of the dogs, following him around and learning from him, while his relationship with the other is a little more complicated. For this reason, Enzo would do best either as the only dog in the home or with a friendly, well socialised adult dog who can set a calm and confident example. As a young and impressionable dog, he is still learning how to interact appropriately and will benefit from continued training and positive social experiences.
Enzo is playful, curious and eager to be involved in whatever his people are doing. The fact that he is food motivated and responsive to positive reinforcement training will make his ongoing learning enjoyable and effective. He is a dog who is open to learning, keen to connect with people (he particularly adores his foster dad), and he’s already showing signs of being a loyal and affectionate companion. He would do well in a home where someone is around for much of the day, where he can continue developing in a safe, structured and loving environment.
Enzo is looking for adopters who can offer routine, guidance and plenty of interaction. In return, he will without question become your best friend.
