Description

Looking for a loving home for Bella and Henry together This is a very difficult decision. Bella and Henry are brother-and-sister dachshunds who turned 3 on 14 August. They’re up to date with their vaccinations. Bella is spayed; Henry is not castrated. They live with our 5-year-old and are gentle with him, although they can be excitable, so their interactions are supervised. They also live happily with our cats and play with them. Bella can react to unfamiliar dogs when out walking. She barks, and when they’re walked together Henry can join in; he is generally calmer when walked on his own. At home, Bella can be fine with our older collie, but when excited she may nip at her and then suddenly turn on her. Our collie has recently had surgery to remove a cancerous growth from her jaw, leaving her especially vulnerable, so we can’t safely continue managing them together. They are crate trained and are used to being crated when left unsupervised, as they can still chew. We’ve been managing the aggression situation for the past six months. I’m a dog walker, and I can no longer include Bella in my working day, which means they’re spending too much time at home. I don’t feel that’s fair on them, and I want to find them a home where they can have the time and attention they deserve. They have been together since birth and have made the difficult decision that they need to go as a pair to stay together. We’re looking for a responsible, understanding home for them as a pair, ideally with no other dogs, and with someone prepared to manage Bella’s reactions around dogs on walks. We’ll be completely open about their needs and would want to talk properly with anyone interested to make sure it’s the right fit for everyone. Please message privately for more information.
