Description Meet Eddie, our year-and-a-half old Ragdoll boy, in Epworth.
He’s an absolute sweetheart, always following you around. He gives no end of headbutts, and loves to sit by you and knead his paws. He’s always purring when you stroke him - he loves a good rub under the chin. He can be picked up without protest, and has never bitten or scratched. Occasionally, he’ll let you cradle him like a baby while he sleeps.
He’s very playful, and loves to chase a ball or a string toy.
We took Eddie in a while ago, hoping he’d be a perfect friend for our other ragdoll, Georgie. Unfortunately, Georgie is a rather boisterous cat, and ended up frightening Eddie to the point where we have had to keep them in separate rooms. We’ve tried many times to slowly reintroduce them, but have come to the conclusion that it is unfair on both cats to force them to live together.
Eddie is a strictly indoors only cat. Ragdolls, as a breed, are not fit for the outdoors. They can get easily lost and disoriented, and have a poor sense of direction. They are incredibly tranquil, and are therefore vulnerable to dogs, other cats, and ill-intentioned people. They are the sort of breed to roll over in front of incoming traffic, and it is completely irresponsible to give them unlimited access to outside.
However, Eddie might benefit from a ‘Cattio’ or a fenced-in play pen in the garden.
From what we have observed, Eddie is not well suited to living with another cat. Before we took him in, he was living with three other cats and I don’t think it was a good experience. Ideally, he would be rehomed in a house with no other pets.
He would be alright to live with calm, gentle children, who understand boundaries with animals and will not handle him too roughly.
He is currently being fed with a mix of Whiskas wet food and Purina kibbles, and though he loves to drink from running taps, has his water in a bowl.
He loves treats, especially Dreamies.
He will come with his litter tray.
If interested, collection will have to be discussed further, and I will need to know some information to ensure he is going to a good home. ❤️
This is a very difficult and heartbreaking decision for us, serious enquiries only.
