Description

This is Colin, he’s looking for his fur-ever home Hi, my name is Colin, I’m 12 months old and a very cheeky chappy! I love going out for walks and meeting new people (I even have my own little bum wiggle) I also love to play with toys and eat… well pretty much anything. I am also crate trained and walk well on my harness, I do also love a cuddle from my human mummy and the best is kisses, I’m a softy really… So hi, if you’re reading this you’re wondering why such a gorgeous boy is up sale, well due to absolutely no fault of his own we as a family have made the heartbreaking decision that Colin needs a home that is there for him than what we are. I run a business and my husband works full time and with children in school he isn’t getting the time and attention from us as much as he needs. He’s a very happy boy at 12 months, he has come on leaps and bounds over the months. He is all up to date with vaccines, flea and worm treatments all from the vets, he weighs 21kg so he’s a big boy, he is microchipped and un-neutered currently. The vets have been apprehensive about the surgery until after Xmas this year due to the lurcher breed in him. He is crate trained both day and night time. He’s on dry food with plenty of treats, he loves a biscuit or a meaty stick. His favourites are cow/rabbit ears. Any natural treats are the best! He walks amazingly on his harness but not on his collar as he does pull if it’s just his collar. He has some recall off his lead but there is so much potential with the right training. He can do sit, paw and lie down without even thinking about it as it’s a routine for a treat. So he lives with 3 children ages 12 to 3 and 3 cats. He loves the cats but he can be heavy pawed when he wants to play with them as he doesn’t know his own strength. Personally I think he’ll make an amazing hunting dog I can see in his behaviour when out for walks it’s all there and he has caught a mouse or two without hesitation. There are so many good points about Colin you’re wondering well what’s his faults? I’ll tell you… don’t leave shoes lying around and your back turned because he loves to grab them and run into the garden, this is a game to him so trying to get them back is a run around. Also don’t leave food lying around for even a second because he will get it as quick as the flash! And finally it’s either good or bad but when you walk through the door he’s so excited he jumps up at you and it can knock you back. But he’s only a baby and this is something we are trying to train him not to do. Some days it works others not so much. He doesn’t jump up at the children tho only adults. He is very excitable dog and this can be a little scary to some people so he really and I can not express this enough he needs someone who can handle him, who can take him out for walks, someone who lives on a farm who will make him work his butt off because he has the energy of a tornado but the intelligence of Einstein.
