Meet Shadow, our lovely Maine coon cross. He is roughly 6 years old. We re-homed him almost a year ago to the day from a place of neglect. When we got him he was almost skin and bones, covered in scabs and riddled with fleas. We got rid of the fleas and have spent the year fattening him up! He was timid and spent the first 2 weeks hiding and terrified, but with lots of love and treats he has really settled with us and came out of his shell. We battled some urinating/spraying issues to start with but we got him neutered and that has completely stopped this thank god! He now loves nothing more than curling up on the sofa or our bed snoring away and just enjoying his lazy life. You're probably wondering then, why are we rehoming him, he sounds the perfect cat?! Well, since we got him out eldest son started with eczema which has progressively got worse and worse to the point it was really affecting his mental health. We pushed the paediatrician who did an allergy test which came back as him being allergic to cats. This came as some shock because we have had cats previously, the only difference we can think is that shadow is mega long haired fluffy shedding machine and our previous cats were short haired. Shadow is the most perfect cat. You can pick him up, cuddle him, the kids grab and cuddle him and he never scratches them, when he's had enough he just moves away. He is the softest lump who is grateful for the new life he has. We will never find another cat like him, and it is sad that we have reached this decision, but ultimately our sons mental and physical health will always come first. He will make an amazing companion to some one. He is used to being alone during the day when we are at work/school, but he would love company during the day too I'm sure. He came from a house with 5 other male cats and definitely wasn't happy, so no male cats. I've not seen him with female cats or other pets, but would say no other pets is best because I don't want him to bounce from home to home it he doesn't get on with them. He does need regular brushing and bum trimming to keep his fur nice and poop free! Please reach out if you have any questions. He will come with cat tray, remaining food and litter. He is not vaccinated as he is an indoor only cat. He will have flea and worm treatment up to date. The price is to ensure him a good home.
