Description

Bear is around 9 years old. We’ve had him for 2 years, we took him on as he wasn’t able to be cared for properly in his previous home but due to circumstances we don’t have the time to provide the attention he needs. Considering rehoming is a big thing for us so he will not just be handed over without running necessary checks such as if your in rented accommodation I’d need to see proof in contract that you can have pets, we are looking for a forever home for bear. He’s very well loved but needs someone who can put some time into training so he doesn’t pull on the lead and someone who can walk him once/twice a day for a good amount of time so would be best suited to someone who works from home or doesn’t work. Ideally I’m looking for a slow transition, meeting on a walk, coming to our home to see bear and then us bringing bear to your home, so being close to Southampton would be essential. Bear is un neutered and we’ve been advised due to age it may not be appropriate now he’s older, he is up to date with vaccination (yearly top up due 5th July) wormed every 3 months and flea treated every month. Bear has never lived with cats so I do not know if he’d get along with cats, he does currently live very happily along side our very old shitzu who very quickly put bear in his place and they get along very well the dynamics are great between them but bear has had a few run ins with smaller dogs while out walking usually due to bear being on lead and the other dog off, triggered by them barking at bear or going out of his eye sight, he’s never hurt a dog while in our care but has pinned them. He’s generally a very loving, playful dog who loves attention. Please ask if you have any questions.
