Vesta, a delicate female miniature Pinscher, weighs 8 kg, stands 37 cm at the shoulders (48 cm with her adorable upright ears), and is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, treated, and completely healthy.
But her life began in unthinkable cruelty. As a newborn puppy, Vesta was stuffed into a cardboard box and thrown away — left by heartless people to die alone in the cold. The box was soaked from the rain, the air icy and still. She lay there trembling, too weak to cry, her tiny heartbeat fading with every minute. No food, no warmth, no mother — just silence and darkness.
When rescuers discovered her, she was moments from death. Her little body was stiff with cold, her breaths shallow, her eyes barely open. A volunteer lifted her gently, pressed her close to their chest, and whispered, “Hold on, little one.” That single act of kindness saved her life.
