Barney is 4 years old, Shepherd mix breed dog, who is medium/large in size. He needs to be an only dog in a home without cats. There would need to be no young children in his home, but we'd consider a home with teenagers. He'd like a more rural home where he could lead a quieter life with not too many interactions with other people or dogs.
This very handsome fella has been returned to us through no fault of his own. He is a Shepherd mix dog and so would need a guardian with knowledge/experience of this type of breed.
In the kennels he is a great dog. He is happy to interact with a lot of different handlers and walks past other dogs with no issues. However, we have been told he is very different in the home - wary of strangers (both dogs and humans). It is difficult to get a sense of this behaviour when he has been so entirely different at the kennels.
Barney is very affectionate - he is well loved at the kennels! He really enjoys a good run around, and is also very good on the lead. He is muzzle trained, making it easy to just pop it on for days outside of the home.
This gorgeous boy will need a few meets before an adoption or foster placement could start. We want both you and him to be happy with your new partnership.
